Abstract

Complex networks appear in a wide range of systems in nature and society and these systems can be modelled as spaces of random graphs.

We present a simple edge generation rule - the Cameo principle - to explain the origin of scale-free graphs and show that the "extremists" impose the final topology of the network. We will discuss also application to epidemiology (HIV spreading, corruption as an epidemic process ...).
