Knowledge with and without representation: how and why narratives not facts coordinate collective action

Abstract

In the talk I will discuss the need for the term narrative to be restricted to the meaning it had in the “narrative turn” (rather than the very strange homemade definitions in, for example, economics) and try to talk about the core biological, social and psychological characteristics of narrative and their role in collective action.
