Multigraded Betti numbers of Veronese surfaces via simplicial homology

Abstract

In a major computation, Bruce, Erman, Goldstein, and Yang determined the multigraded Betti numbers of the first six Veronese embeddings of the projective plane. Via a well known interpretation of these numbers in terms of simplicial complexes, one can prove (non-)vanishing results. This in ongoing joint work with Zongpu Zhang.
