Abstract

The talk discusses a spatial stochastic population model whose basic mechanisms are migration, resampling, selection and mutation. A multiple space-time scale analysis is used to investigate the evolution of rare fit mutants in the populaiton by performing a hierachical mean-field limit which leads to a precise asymptotic description of the phenomena connected with the new type arising and succeeding in evolution.
