On Backward Uniqueness for the Heat Equation in Two-Dimensional Conical Domains

In this talk I will present new backward uniqueness results for the heat equation in conical domains improving previous results of Sverak and Li. Moreover, under additional assumptions on the initial data the optimal angular dependence is proved. After reviewing the different behavior of the heat equation in bounded and unbounded domains the central Carleman estimate will be motivated.
