Abstract

The presentation will review an approach, based on nonlinear, locally connected dynamical systems, know as Cellular Nonlinear Networks (CNNs), for the emergence of dynamical oscillatory slow-fast patterns, useful for locomotion control in biologically inspired robots.

Furthermore, the use of the same CNN structure will be shown to give rise to other kinds of patterns, representing equilibria in attractor based networks, useful for the design of a perceptual structure in biorobotics. The methodology will be presented together with some experimental results.
