Workshop on Aspects of shock wave theory

Shock waves are discontinuity fronts or narrow large-gradient zones in solutions to conservative systems of partial differential equations. The motion of fluids or elastic bodies, under or without the influence of electromagnetic fields, and other processes are often governed by such systems. Primary topics of this workshop are the existence and stability of shock waves and the theory of solutions possibly containing many shock waves, for general classes of systems of conservation laws or prominent specific models of contiuum physics.
The workshop is financed through the research programmes HYKE and ANUME.
