We have decided to discontinue the publication of preprints on our preprint server as of 1 March 2024. The publication culture within mathematics has changed so much due to the rise of repositories such as ArXiV (www.arxiv.org) that we are encouraging all institute members to make their preprints available there. Boundary vortices in thin magnetic films

Abstract
We study the asymptotic behavior of a family of functionals describing the formation of topologically induced boundary vortices in thin magnetic films. We obtain convergence results for sequences of minimizers and some classes of stationary points, and relate the limiting behavior to a finite dimensional problem, the renormalized energy associated to the vortices.
