Abstract

A general critical point theory can be developed for continuous functions defined on a metric space. Also some classes of lower semicontinuous functions can be approached. A wide area of application is constituted by some quasilinear elliptic equations with natural growth conditions, which are Euler equations of continuous but not locally Lipschitz functionals.
