The Chow-Lam Form
- Elizabeth Pratt
Abstract
The classical Chow form encodes any projective variety by a single equation. In this talk, we will introduce the Chow-Lam form, which is a generalization of the Chow form to subvarieties of arbitrary Grassmannians. Like the Chow form, it has useful computational properties: for example, it gives us universal formulas for certain linear projections from one Grassmannian to another. Such formulas were pioneered by Thomas Lam for positroid varieties in the study of amplituhedra. This is joint work with Bernd Sturmfels.
