Abstract
This talk will address various aspects of TDA from a more statistical perspective. It will include a brief survey of relevant approaches for statistical inference, and a critical discussion of some challenges involved in (i) the development of approaches for statistical inference; (ii) the derivation of statistically meaningful theory; and (iii) more practical challenges arising in scientific applications of TDA methods.
