Hello! I'm Martina Zizza, a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. László Székelyhidi at the Max Planck Institute, where I’ve been working since October 2023. Prior to this, I completed my PhD in Trieste under the supervision of Prof. Stefano Bianchini.
My research is centered around two main areas. The first explores the role of combinatorics in fluid dynamics, where fluid configurations can be viewed as permutations of particles. The second focuses on dynamic blocking problems of fire propagation. While both problems have a more geometric and algebraic flavor, I aim to integrate these approaches into analytical frameworks.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring various hobbies—most recently, I’ve been learning crochet and origami. I also love cooking, practicing Pilates, and cycling through the beautiful parks of Leipzig.
