This Week was MEGA

We look back on a special conference week on Effective Methods in Algebraic Geometry featuring 200 participants, inspiring talks and discussions, and a lively scientific exchange.

MEGA – an acronym for this research area – is a series of biennial international conferences with a tradition dating back to 1990. It is devoted to computational and applied aspects of Algebraic Geometry (in any characteristic) and related topics. The MEGA 2024 conference took place both at the MPI and the University of Leipzig.

The participants could expect a comprehensive program of presentations and selected talks of the recent progresses of the domain as well as a lively exchange with international researchers.

The MEGA conferences aim to promote the development of the subject through academic exchange, update the community's knowledge by inviting talented researchers from Europe and beyond, and attract and support young students and researchers to join this research area.
