Nonlinear Algebra People - 2018

Michael Joswig

August 1, 2018

Michael Joswig is working on polyhedral combinatorics, optimization, and tropical geometry at TU Berlin. Specifically, he is interested in developing software for research in mathematics and beyond. Michael’s long-term project (co-authored with Ewgenij Gawrilow and many other friendly people) is Polymake, an open source software for research in polyhedral geometry. Check out the online game MatchTheNet, if you want to play with polytopes.

As soon as he is done with his project on regular subdivisions arising from drosophila data (with Holger Eble, Lisa Lamberti, and Will Ludington) and on tropical geometry of higher rank (with Ben Smith) Michael will finally complete his book on tropical combinatorics. That's a promise!
