Published Jan 16, 2020

Congratulations to Pradeep Kumar Banerjee on the successful defense of his PhD thesis “Unique information and the Blackwell order”. We wish him all the best and much success in his new positions as a postdoc in Guido Montúfar’s group on “Mathematical Machine Learning”.

Pradeep K. Banerjee got his M.S. in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering in 2014. Before starting his PhD studies at our MPI in the group of Jürgen Jost, he worked as a research consultant at the Advanced VLSI Design Laboratory of the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur and as project assistant at the National Brain Research Center in Gurgaon, India. His scientific work lies at the intersection of information theory, statistics and machine learning. He is especially interested in applying tools from information theory to understand the generalization capabilities of deep learning algorithms.
