My name is Laurent Côté. I did my PhD at Stanford in 2020 with Yasha Eliashberg and I am currently a Benjamin Peirce Fellow at Harvard. My main research area is symplectic topology; this is a field which grew out of classical mechanics but now involves many connections to quantum phenomena. I am generally interested in interactions between symplectic topology and other areas of science, and hope to learn more about this when visiting the MPI MiS in Leipzig.
In my free time, I often listen to classical music. Some of my favorite music was composed in the Leipzig area (a long time ago). This is another reason why I'm excited to be coming here.
