Alicia Dickenstein is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires. She works on algebraic geometry and applications in systems biology. She loves that math is a very democratic human activity, because we all think the same way, regardless of race, gender, age, or social status.
She made two short and happy visits to MPI MiS and in 2022 she will teach a minicourse in a joint MSRI-MPI Leipzig Graduate School on Algebraic Methods for Biochemical Reaction Networks. In addition to doing research, she enjoys participating in math outreach activities. She loves reading, and playing with her family.
