Sachi Hashimoto

June 14, 2022

My name is Sachi Hashimoto, and I am a postdoc at MPI MiS. In May 2022 I received my PhD from Boston University under the supervision of Jennifer Balakrishnan. My thesis was on p-adic methods for determining rational points on higher genus curves.

My research interests lie in arithmetic geometry and algebraic geometry. In particular, I am interested in explicit methods for finding rational points on curves. At MPI, I hope to expand my research program to study problems in algebraic geometry and tropical geometry.

Outside of math, I enjoy rock climbing and hiking. I am excited to explore the beautiful natural areas around Leipzig.
