My name is Thu Hien (Hisha) Nguyen. I am currently a Ph.D. student at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine, under the supervision of Anna Vishnyakova. I am interested in the zero distribution and localization of univariate entire functions and polynomials, especially in the beautiful Laguerre-Pólya class.
I am originally from Vietnam, however, I was born in Berlin and raised in Kharkiv. Unfortunately, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I had to escape from my city to Germany where the mathematical society very welcomed me. During my short visit to the MPI at the beginning of May 2022, after spending time with the Nonlinear Algebra group, my research interests extended to multivariate polynomials, the class of Lorentzian polynomials, and the geometric approach.
Besides Maths, I enjoy exploring the world through music, visual arts, and learning languages. I like playing musical instruments, drawing, and filming just for fun. Also, I am interested in learning Japanese and Korean. In my free time, I love spending time in nature watching sunrise and sunset.
